Reviews

“The illustrations of the main characters are truly masterpieces…and I don’t use that word lightly. I spent extra beats of precious time staring into the eyes of Tessa, Kota, Winston and Jaxon.” ~ Mikey

“Two Thumbs up!” ~Tidus age 10

“I am beguiled by the endearing personalities you have imbued your beloved characters. With notable exception being King Damien… but every great story needs a worthy villain.”

“…The artillery of seeds, roots, and
poisonous blossoms could help save the Kingdom…”

About the Authors

Lauren Moore

Author

Lauren Moore grew up in Montana on the Burnin’ Daylight Ranch and currently resides in Missoula with her very handsome boyfriend, Joel; their dog, Winston, and two cats, Tom & Hank. Her wonderful parents, Dennis & Lise, still reside at Burnin’ Daylight and her beautiful twin sister, Cameron, lives just a couple of hilltops away from them. Her new niece, Evelyn, keeps a strict eye on Lauren’s brother, Matt, and his beautiful wife, Nina, who live in Sacramento.

Lauren loves gardening and each year refuses to accept that it is usually ‘too soon to plant’. By no means is she a Master Gardener, but she is a firm advocate of Chaos Gardening. When she runs out of areas to plant, you will often find her scoping out her unsuspecting friends’ yards and luring them into relandscaping with the promise of “it will be easy!” and “it won’t cost that much!”.

Over the course of writing this book and through the assistance of her incredible friends, she was also able to perfect her espresso martini recipe – which they can all now enjoy in their new gardens.

Lauren was introduced to Laura through a mutual friend approximately 14 years ago and after a brief interrogation of each other, they decided that they were meant to be best friends and have been inseparable since – enough so that they both decided to date/marry men with the same first name.

Kielian DeWitt

Author & Illustrator

Kielian DeWitt is a retired Environmental Scientist who moved from Colorado to Montana twenty years ago.  She is a founding Board member of the Bitterroot Secret Garden tour and her gardens have been on the Tour three separate occasions. Kielian’s gardens have been published in Fine Gardening and Garden Gate magazines and she won the international Gardenista Amateur Garden of the Year award in 2014. Kielian is a Master Gardener and earned an MS in Environmental Science.

She and her husband, Chuck, operate Ponderosa Creek Ranch (ummm…Kingdom) and enjoy the antics of their four cats, two dogs and six horses while they tend to expansive gardens and alfalfa fields.

The Moore and DeWitt families get together frequently especially during the summer and fall harvests.  Of course, Winston, Elvis and Goose jump in the truck for the visit and to tell Tale Tales with the animals at Ponderosa Creek Kingdom.

Laura Isaacs

Special Contributor

Laura is a Montana native who currently resides on the banks of the Blackfoot River. At a young age, her parents instilled in her a love for the wild things. Plants, animals, wilderness, and waterways carefully crafted her youth.

She along with her husband, Joel, and daughter, Emilie, take part in all things outdoors in these wild places. Rafting, fishing, hiking, and skiing are passions of the Isaacs family and you will find them outside in nature, rain, shine or snow.

Laura’s creativity and technical savvy made her the ideal choice to be folded into this writing experience with Lauren and Kielian. She has enjoyed stretching into her creative brain while bringing this Tale of Tails to life.
